I help active adults feel stronger, steadier, and better supported in their bodies through intelligent movement, muscle activation, and nervous system support.
Hello there, I’m Lore Goldstein
A pivotal chapter of my life began in rural Alaska, where I lived and worked in a remote Yupik village. That experience changed me deeply. It stripped away a lot of noise, sharpened my sense of what matters, and set me on a path toward yoga, meditation, and a more grounded way of living and teaching.
Over time, that path evolved. Years of teaching, practicing, and then personal experience showed me that more stretching was NOT the answer, and that strength, stability, and better muscular support often mattered more. That realization changed my work and led me toward a more integrated approach to movement and nervous system care.
Today, my work blends yoga, mat Pilates, qigong, muscle activation, and vagus nerve-supportive practices in a way that is practical, thoughtful, and designed for real older-ish bodies.
I work with active adults who want to stay mobile, reduce pain, build strength, experience less stress, and move through life with more steadiness so they can continue to enjoy the activities they love.
My approach is shaped by experience, ongoing study, and a belief that more is not always better. Often the body responds best to clear input, consistent habits, and the right kind of support rather than more force, more stretching, or more hustle.
My Alaska Story
(if it piques your interest…)
How I Ended Up in the Middle of Nowhere
Back in 2011 I was living and working in a remote Native Yupik village, a part of Alaska that no normal person goes. Life on the frozen tundra was nothing short of unpredictable and intense. The winters were long and dark, running water seemed optional on some days, the culture was resistant to “outsiders,” and every day I encountered something that fell into the “shit you can’t make up” category. It gave me a firsthand experience of what it was like to be on the “other side, ”to face cultural and ethnic prejudice and to feel the isolation of not belonging.
What Opened Me Up (Physically and Mentally)
It was here in Alaska I that found yoga and meditation (thanks to Rodney Yee and his mountain of available Netflix DVDs). It was a physical struggle to even hold down dog, and I truly sucked at doing any form of asana at first. But I kept at it. I mean really, what else was there to do in the middle of nowhere?
At the same time, I started experimenting with my physical health, changing my diet and daily habits. When you’re living in below-freezing temperatures, with no restaurants and very few distractions, it turns out to be a surprisingly good time to reassess how you’re living.
The Bigger Questions Start to Surface
Eventually, I realized I was profoundly unfulfilled, and I began questioning my life direction and relationship choices. That curiosity led me to explore tools like Tarot, EFT, and other modalities that cracked me open to new ways of healing and seeing the world.
Somewhere along the way, I discovered a level of confidence and capability I didn’t know I had. If I could survive life in a remote Alaskan village, I could survive just about anything… well, maybe not an avalanche or a moose attack.
Coming Home and Not Going Back to “Normal”
When I returned to Florida, one thing was clear: I couldn’t go back to business as usual. If I stayed in my conventional psychotherapy practice, or my marriage, the tension and anxiety I carried would only intensify.
So I did the scary thing. I quit my practice. I packed up only the essentials (hello minimalism). I moved to another city. I amicably parted ways with my ex. It was the beginning of a new chapter - one where fulfillment and authenticity mattered more than living a life that simply looked good on paper.
When Yoga Stopped Working the Way It Was Supposed To
After more than a decade of practicing yoga, and eventually teaching it, I noticed something unsettling. Instead of feeling stronger, I felt weaker. Old injuries flared up. Sciatica pain worsened. Standing too long caused back pain. Long flights were brutal, my left butt cheek would catch fire halfway across the country.
I wanted to chalk it up to age. But deep down, I knew something was off.
The Missing Link: Strength Without Pain
That’s when I stumbled upon yoga combined with Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT). Suddenly, everything clicked. Movement didn’t have to hurt. Strength didn’t have to come at the expense of pain.
I discovered an entirely different, pain-free way of moving and teaching - one that respected how the body is actually designed to function. That discovery continues to shape everything I do today.
A little more about me…
I wear a few hats (and none of them fit neatly in a box).
But the thread running through all of them is the same: helping people feel stronger, steadier and more at home in their bodies. My work blends movement, nervous system support, practical wisdom, and a healthy sense of humor.
I’m trauma-aware, highly intuitive, and deeply practical. I care about creating spaces where people can build strength, reduce stress, and explore change without pressure, performance, or pretending.
Grounded, Even When It Gets a Little Woo
Some aspects of my work might feel “wacky-woo” at first glance, but everything I do is rooted in science and practical application. I believe we can honor both the “proven” and more metaphysical concepts in a way that actually works in real life.
One More Thing - Animals Have My Heart
I also volunteer at my local animal shelter and donate a portion of my proceeds to animal rescue. If you follow me online, expect useful movement insights with a solid chance of cats.
